Our elementary school campus is in northwest Clairemont includes an infant-toddler program, which serves special needs children from birth to 3 years old.
Our school gives each student the opportunity to learn with an individualized focus, an advantage of our small and intimate size. Our dedicated staff works to create a school environment that helps students thrive. All students receive extra science, physical education and choral music each week. Plus we offer a variety of after-school opportunities including art, science, and Spanish.
Our highly qualified teachers, support staff and volunteers work as a team to provide the best instruction for all children. University of San Diego (USD) and SDSU teachers-in-training students serve as tutors.
What makes our school really special is the active involvement of parents and families in their children's education, including an involved Parent-Teacher Association as well as classroom volunteers. From the community our students benefit from active partnerships with Northern Division of San Diego Police Department, USD and SDSU. Principal Lewis maintains weekly contact with parents and students through letters, phone calls and individual contact.
One of our special programs is our school recycling program, which teaches students about environmental issues and at the same time gives them a strong sense of accomplishment to know that they can be part of a solution. Our school has received numerous awards for its success. Another program that helps kids really get involved in their learning is our school garden. We built it with the help of grants, and provided boxes for each grade level to tend and learn from. Our garden won an award from the Clairemont Town Council, and they are the pride and joy of our students.
