At Chollas Mead Elementary School, we work together to bring the very best learning experiences to every child. We are proud of our wonderful children, staff, and families, and look forward to working with you to make each day filled with successful learning for our students. As a staff, we remain focused on meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of every child. The mission of Chollas Mead Elementary is to develop the whole child by providing a nurturing environment and an academically challenging curriculum that promotes:
-
Life-long learning
-
Creative and critical thinking
-
Personal academic achievement
-
Appreciation for individual differences
-
Global thinking
-
Responsible citizenship
Our wonderful staff is dedicated to working collaboratively and their commitment to student success is what sets them apart from others. We will be dedicating our efforts this year to establish Grade Level Planning Time to further develop our differentiation model which will focus on meeting the needs of all of our learners.
We also will place great emphasis on positive school climate and provide monthly assemblies focusing on respect, responsibility, caring, trustworthiness, fairness, and citizenship.
Teachers stringently follow Common Core standards while incorporating technology. Students are exposed to, and are expected to utilize, technology in their projects. Two technology specialists work in our labs. All classrooms have laptop stations and use i21 technology equipment. Grades 3-6 have laptops and iPads.
Our expectation is for every parent and staff to assist students to reach proficient or advance competency in English, mathematics, science and social studies. Parents are encouraged to participate in the harvest festival, holiday program, poetry celebration, talent show and other community-building events. Parents are involved in governance, SSC and our PTA.
Our partners, Jacobs Foundation, Malcolm X Library, and Jackie Robinson YMCA support our school in various ways.
