Our overall goal is to develop students who take an active stance in their own learning and become actively literate, contributing members of society who make a positive difference in the world.
We offer a comprehensive curriculum with a strong focus on academic excellence for all students. Instruction is focused on every student reaching or exceeding California State Standards. This year our teachers are working diligently to implement new Reading and Writing Units of study by Lucy Calkins. These units are built on the best practices and proven frameworks developed over years of work in classrooms across the country and around the world. Our teachers are offering state-of-the-art reading and writing workshops that help students meet and exceed global standards. In addition, this year, all of our teachers have participated in extensive professional development opportunities enabling them to teach mathematics for deep and flexible understanding.
