Hoover High School is located in an ethnically diverse neighborhood of San Diego serving students primarily from City Heights. Hoover’s student body of approximately 2,300 students is rich in cultural diversity, welcoming students from a variety of backgrounds, origins, and languages. “Diversity” is a tenet of our “Cardinal PRIDE” mantra, as we embrace our differences, yet are proud and united as Hoover Cardinals.
Hoover staff is committed to creating a learning environment that is safe, engaging and rigorous in an effort to provide students with the tools needed for college and career readiness. We offer a wide variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and math) focused small learning communities. This Linked Learning approach exposes students to college and career opportunities while simulating workforce within the classroom.
Hoover is also home to several brand-new state of the art classroom buildings, offices, and a performing arts theater that is a crown jewel of the neighborhood. Come see Hoover for yourself!
