California Purple Star School
The California Purple Star School Designation Program recognizes schools that are committed and equipped to meet the unique needs of military-connected students and their families.
California Purple Star schools seek to reduce the burdens on military-connected students and their families by providing support, creating transition programs, and offering staff professional development.
San Diego is home to one of the largest concentrations of military-connected students in the state. Nearly 8,000 San Diego Unified students have at least one parent serving in the Armed Forces.
