Bienvenidos, welcome! We are the pride of historic Logan Heights. Our school offers neighborhood children a beautiful new school filled with the latest technology. Our students work hard to succeed. From their school our students can see grand views of the downtown skyscrapers and the harbor beyond.
Our mission at Burbank Elementary is aligned with the district’s Vision 2020 plan: a quality school that engages all students in a rigorous and relevant learning environment that will hold all stakeholders accountable for each student’s success. We hold high expectations for the students at Luther Burbank Elementary. We believe that our students will graduate with the skills, motivation, curiosity and resilience to succeed in their choice of College and Career in order to lead and participate in the society of tomorrow because of the strong foundation they learned here.
At Burbank, we know that language is at the very core of our students’ identity: it is how they relate to their past, their family, their culture and their upbringing. We understand that it important for our students to remain connected to their own culture even while they experience a new one. Because of this, we are proud to offer a Dual Language strand at our school. Our classrooms are rich in learning experiences focusing on English and Spanish language development in all curricular areas.
There is a strong sense of community at Burbank Elementary. Many of our students' parents and even grandparents have graduated from Burbank. We provide a broad and challenging curriculum that aligns with the Common Core State Standards. All stakeholders are committed to a vision of excellence.
We work with the community to ensure a safe and positive learning environment that promotes preparation, continuous improvement, and excellence! Opportunities for parent participation include Family Fridays, Family Learning Nights (Literacy, Math, Science), Parent Workshops & Training Opportunities, English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), and School Site Council (SSC). Contact the main office to learn more of how YOU can be involved in our School Community.
