At Cherokee Point, we are dedicated to developing young people of good character who will become informed, responsible, and caring citizens. We empower our students to be responsible for their own learning. All children are encouraged to achieve academic success, enjoy learning, celebrate diversity, develop analytical skills and model exemplary behavior.
As stated in our mission, because we value children as unique individuals, we value curiosity, intellectual risk-taking and learning; high academic and social standards; family and community involvement; collaboration and responsibility for lifelong learning. We believe in creating an environment that addresses the individual needs and unique learning styles of every child.
We use multiple measures in literacy, mathematics and language acquisition to determine which instructional skills, strategies and approaches we should teach and/or implement. Cherokee Point is focused on ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality, rigorous, engaging instructional program. A range of support opportunities is available for students needing additional assistance.
As a result of our commitment to obtaining community resources, we offer many special programs through our eight business and community partners. These include Everyone a Reader, Price Charities, Douglas-Young Services, tutoring programs, Family Fridays and Family Workshops.
