Welcome to the home of the Mountaineers!!

We are a dedicated district magnet school focused on Spanish language immersion, global citizenship and Restorative Practices. The school serves elementary (K-5) and middle school (6-8) students.  Nestled away in Clairemont, we are a dedicated magnet, with approximately 225 students from across San Unified School District.  Students are able to enroll into our magnet program through the Choice application process.

Each grade at Muir is comprised of one to two cohorts of students creating a supportive, personalized and safe environment in and out of the classroom.  Each year we continue to expand our Spanish Immersion Program and for the 2021-2022 school year we will offer in: 

• Grades UTK - 6:  Spanish Immersion Magnet
• Grades 7 - 8:  English Only  (Alternative Program)

In collaboration with students, parents and partners we work each and every day ensuring our students have a "Safe, Supportive and Collaborative Culture".  In conjunction with the focus on our school culture, our team works to ensure that there is "Effective Instruction in Each Classroom".   

The mission of the Muir Spanish Immersion K-8 community is to create a global learning community where students:

Bilingual, Biliterate and Multicultural 

Utilize bilingualism and bi-literacy (Spanish & English) through a multicultural lens to achieve academic excellence and apply skills in real-world situations and diverse settings.

Develop and exhibit accountability, confidence, student empowerment and perseverance in becoming lifelong learners.

Collaboration & Critical Thinking

Apply collaborative skills and student empowerment in order to build bridges between communities and apply critical thinking skills to solve problems and promote social justice and equity.
